Apparently tired of acting in 'formula films', Sathyaraj now plays the lead role in Kurukshetram. His lollus having been reduced to tiresome cliches, he needs the changes.

Understanding the reality, Sathyaraj brings his acting to the fore in his forthcoming release Kurukshetram.

Being directed by director Jayabharathy, who wielded the megaphone for national-award winners like Kudisai and Nanba Nanba, Kurukshetram features him in a role that fits his age. Roja is paired opposite him, being produced by Rajendra, a noted Kannada actor.

Jayabharaty said the actor's improvisation has been amazing and a feature of his personality. The role is tailor-made for Roja, as she has the experience and the wherewithal to give perfection to the character.
