Known for completing things on a fast track, music director D Imman took eight months to compose songs for 'Kumki', directed by Prabhu Solomon. The film marks the acting debut of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan's grandson and Prabhu's son Vikram Prabhu.

Says Prabhu Solomon, "Imman has come out with six stunning songs. Each one is of a different genre and they will present a different treat to the audience. He worked hard for eight months for this project. Imman's music in Kumki will surpass that of Mynaa."

The director adds: "But there won't be any separate space for songs as they will come along with the script. We are planning to hold an audio launch function in Chennai soon and I am sure Imman will steal the show."

On why he chose to make another film set in the backdrop of a forest, after a similar attempt in 'Mynaa', the director says, "It is the story which decides its backdrop and not me. When we make a film on jumbos, forest has to be the natural backdrop."
