Actor Ashwin the son of producer Lakshmi Movies Swaminathan acted in an important role in Prabhu Solomon's 'Kumki' which also gave a big break to Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon. Ashwin's comedy timing and one-liners were so popular that he went on to star in several movies including the Arya-Santhanam-Nayanthara starter 'Boss Engira Bhaskaran'. 'Velayinu Vanthutaa Vellaikaran', 'Thodari', 'Thamizh Padam 2' and 'Dharmaprabhu'.

Ashwin was in love for a long time with Vidya Sri the daughter of Rajasekhar residing in K.K. Nagar Chennai and after the approval of both the parents they decided to get married. The marriage ceremony was held today as a strictly private affair following the government guidelines of twenty members from both families put together. Vidya Sri is a doctor who studied medicine in the USA.
