Two controlled budget films arrive this weekend - 'Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi' and 'Citylights'. None of the two films boast of any star quotient, though they are backed by producers like Ekta Kapoor/Bejoy Nambiar and Mukesh Bhatt/Fox. While former is a comedy, latter is a serious drama. The promotion has been just about optimal for the two films which are basically word of mouth affairs.

All of this means that from the opening perspective, it would all boil down to how the evening and night shows turn out to be, once audience feedback and critic reviews start pouring in. In terms of target audience, both films are primarily aiming for multiplex audiences and while 'Kuku Mathur...' should primarily find audience up North, 'Citylights' should find greater reach in Mumbai and South.

In terms of collections, there won't be much to differentiate the two films at least as far as the opening day is concerned.
