Young filmmaker Madhumitha (of 'Vallamai Tharayo' fame) came in for praise from ace filmmaker K Balachandar at the audio launch of her forthcoming movie 'Kola Kolaya Mundhirikka' in Chennai Friday.

"I appreciate Madhumitha, who has made a comedy film in her second venture itself. She has disproved the theory that woman directors go in for women-centric films," said the ace director.

Stating that he too made comedies in his initial days, Balachandar said, "But people started calling me as a serious filmmaker after I made a series of intense films."

He also said all mega serials that are currently being made for television channels are extensions of 'Aval Oru Thodarkadhai', a film which he made decades ago.

Music for 'Kola Kolaya Mundhirikka' was scored by Selva Ganesh, son of well-known percussionist Vikku Vinayakram. The film is produced by Madhumitha’s home banner Giriguja Films International.

Producer Sundarraman, actors Sarath Kumar, Anandaraj, Sachu, Karthik and scriptwriter Crazy Mohan among others took part in the function.
