Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Somu Veerraju has reportedly said that the party, if it forms the government in AP, will supply cheap liquor for Rs 50 at a public rally on Tuesday. Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao, who has been slamming the saffron party of late, shamed the leader and his party.
"Wah…what a scheme! What a shame. AP BJP stoops to a new low. National policy of BJP to supply cheap liquor at Rs 50 or is this bumper offer only for states where the desperation is “high”? (sic)," he tweeted.
Earlier, he also questioned the record of the BJP in healthcare and other social indicators in the so-called BIMARU States of India. He alleged that BJP has not been able to improve the situation in States like Uttar Pradesh despite ruling them for decades. Many have fact-checked the TRS leader's obvious falsehood, saying that BJP came to power in UP in 2017.
Meanwhile, Somu Veerraju today said that he had promised to cut the prices of cheap liquor with the aim of helping the poor. "My intention is to help the poor save money," he added.
