In the wake of arson in Bengaluru by a violent mob belonging to a particular community, IT Minister KT Rama Rao and parliamentarian Asaduddin Owaisi have condemned the "derogatory" post on Prophet Muhammad. It's the post by a nephew of a Congress MLA that caused the violence on Tuesday in the capital of Karnataka. KTR didn't explicitly refer to the post but only said that social media users should be responsible.
"Goes to show you how dangerous spreading fake news in social media can be. Request all social media users to be responsible; don’t indulge in propaganda and stop spreading fake news. Social media cannot turn into an instrument for anti-social behaviour," the TRS leader tweeted, sharing the news of the riot.
On his part, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted, "The violence in Bengaluru and the objectionable/offensive social media posts are highly condemnable. I appeal to everyone involved to not indulge in violence. I hope peace is strengthened."
