How about a merger of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation? This is a question that has come to occupy many a mind with Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao today saying that he would like such a merger to happen. He was quoting the opinion of a lot of citizens as expressed in news reports.

Read a couple is news reports today where citizens overwhelmingly opined that the Secunderabad Cantonment Board has to be merged in the GHMC. I am in agreement too. What do you guys say? he asked on Twitter.

Agreeing with the proposal, a resident of Hyderabad wrote, YES PLEASE! For god’s sake, please do something about that dreadful cantt. Hyderabad is like a paralyzed person with north Hyderabad handicapped solely because of it. While the rest of Hyderabad has all kinds of economic activity, this part is struggling!

Responding to the tweet, a senior citizen opined, How does it help the citizens? SCB follows more or less the same pattern of urban governance as GHMC. Another Twitter user said, SCB maintains Cleanliness n with environment conservation while when it comes to GHMC they will definitely ruin the past things easily and fast.
