It's known that KCR went on a hunger strike to achieve Telangana in 2009. Telangana Municipal and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao has recalled those days by sharing a pic of himself getting detained on the Deeksha Diwas, which was observed on November 29. On the day, TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao launched into a fast unto death demanding the formation of a separate Telangana State.
"My Badge of Honour from 13 years ago on the same Day (sic)," KTR wrote on Twitter.
He added, "Deeksha Diwas was the day when the selfless and unrelenting KCR garu launched fast-unto-death, which paved the way for a separate state, the youngest and unarguably the fastest growing Indian state of today."
Meanwhile, KTR, the supporter of media independence and integrity, is mourning the stepping down of NDTV co-founder Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy as NDTV directors. "As someone who is both a secular leader and a fan of NDTV's impartial, unbiased journalism, KTR's mourning is poignant and a reminder of the dark times," a Netizen wrote.
