Security has been beefed up like never before in Jammu & Kashmir. The Centre has moved additional troops by thousands to prepare for any eventuality in the State. There is this apprehension that terrorists are planning attacks in the State, backed as they are by Pakistan. Non-locals have been asked to leave the State, so also tourists and Amarnath Yatris.
In the wake of the unforeseen developments, students from different States, including the Telugu States, have been asked to leave for some days. In this regard, TRS leader KTR has given T students an assurance. "I have been receiving some anxious messages from Telugu students of NIT, Srinagar as the Govt of India has asked for the campus to be vacated and asked students to leave immediately. Be rest assured, Govt of Telangana will assist you in safe return. Have alerted our officials to reach out & help," he said.
KTR added, "Any student/parent wanting assistance, please call our Resident Commissioner Sri Vedantam Giri at 011-2338 2041 or on his mobile +91 99682 99337 at Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi."
