Veteran producer KS Rama Rao today refuted the fake news published by a Telugu daily that he has been made to quit as the President of the Vizag arm of the Film Nagar Cultural Centre. He categorically said that the news is the result of a lack of due diligence.
The producer also said that there is no truth in the rumour that funds to the tune of Rs 30 Cr have been litigated. "It is not factually correct that the funds have been misused or something," he added.
Rama Rao also said that the governments have in the past allotted two plot lands for the FNCC. A piece of land allotted at Thotlakonda has been disputed as a Buddhist tourist centre. As such, the FNCC had to give up claims on it. The previous AP government was urged to allot place near the Dr. D Ramanaidu Film Studio. However, the approval has remained pending till now.
Rama Rao lamented that it's unfortunate that fake news has emerged at a time when he and his team are making all possible efforts to develop the film industry.
About the AP ticket prices issue, Rama Rao said that the policy of determining the ticket prices based on the budget of the movie, on a case-by-case basis, is followed nowhere in the world.
