An infringement case has been filed against makers of 'Pushpaka Vimana', a Kannada movie. According to the suit, they didn't buy any remake rights before making the movie. It's allegedly an infringement on Kross Pictures India, who own the remake rights of 'Miracle In Cell No. 7', a Korean movie.
The infringement case is currently filed in Bombay High Court and it's against Vikhyat Chitra Productions, Pawan Wadeyar Film Factory and others.
The matter is now sub-judice, the sources have said.
Kross Pictures was founded in 2004 and it's a cross-border film and TV production company. It has offices in Seoul, Los Angeles and Mumbai. "We acquire high-concept and proven intellectual property to produce films in different languages," they said. They have earlier made 'TE3N', the Bollywood movie based on 'Montage'. They are currently making 'Suspect X', directed by Sujoy Ghosh for Amazon India.
