Of late speculation was out that that Kriti Sanon had refused to sign contract with YRF for Sultan role. However the production house was not amused with this news and clarified that they had never approached the 'Dilwale' in the first place. YRF stressed that it is "an incorrect report and clearly a figment of someone`s imagination!"

"Kriti Sanon was never offered Sultan," read an official statement from the banner. It further went to add, "The actress was not approached or engaged by YRF. So the question of Kriti Sanon refuses to sign contract with YRF for Sultan role.` does not arise thus making this news completely untrue and misleading."

Since the time of its inception, Salman Khan starrer had been in news for its leading lady and names of several A-list actresses had been making its rounds.

Commenting on this, YRF statement read, "In spite of many rumours to the contrary, Sultan`s leading lady has not been finalised and we will certainly be happy to make an official announcement once the casting is decided."
