Kriti Sanon it is for Prabhas’ epic drama

The makers of ‘Adipurush’ have finally ended the months-long suspense over who will be playing Goddess Sita in the movie. It is Kriti Sanon of ‘1: Nenokkadine’ fame.

After director Om Raut on Friday made the announcement, Kriti Sanon took to Twitter and wrote, “A new journey begins.. One of my most special ones.. overwhelmed to be a part of #Adipurush (sic).”

The film, a 3D epic action drama based on the Ramayana, has Prabhas as Lord Ram. Saif Ali Khan is playing Ravana. Sunny Singh, a Bollywood actor, will reportedly be seen as Laxmana.

The film will release in August 2022. The VFX-heavy movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, besides Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles.

The film went on the floors on February 2.

As for Kriti, she is currently also doing ‘Bachchan Pandey’, a Hindi-language film, opposite Akshay Kumar. Years ago, she acted in Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Dochey’ before quitting Tollywood. ‘Adipurush’ will be her first straight Telugu film in years.
