Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon is on cloud nine after clinching the National Film Award for Best Actress at the 69th edition of the esteemed awards. Sharing the honor with Alia Bhatt, who also secured Best Actress for her role in Gangubai Kathiawadi, the two stars celebrated their triumph on social media. In a recent revelation, Kriti disclosed that she reached out to Alia after the announcement. Speaking to News18, Kriti shared that they both excitedly chatted about their victories. "I’ve always admired Alia as an actor, and it’s a proud moment to be sharing this prestigious award with her! I called her up, and both of us were just too excited," she said.
Pankaj Tripathi, Kriti's co-star in Mimi, also snagged a National Award for Best Supporting Actor. Kriti expressed her jubilation upon learning about his win as well. She described him as one of her favorite co-stars and emphasized her happiness for his well-deserved recognition.
Kriti reflected on her own achievement and told that she felt elated, overwhelmed, very grateful, and emotional. She mentioned that it was obviously a significant moment that was still sinking in. Kriti noted that it might be the first award that had brought a slight teary-eyed reaction from her, emphasizing that it was indeed a monumental moment.
