'Krishnaveni Panjaalai,' an upcoming project by director Dhanapal Padmanabhan boasts of a neat woven script. The movie is completed and is all set to hit the screens shortly. The movie envisages the lives of cotton mill workers at the Udumalpet region from 1957 till 1990.
With cotton factories and mills forming the background of the film, it brings out a love story say sources. With today's IT scenario, people fail to know the ups and downs these villagers have gone through and this movie is just the right thing for those of you who wish to travel through the struggles and share the happiness of these workers.
And no, the movie is not just another movie that shows labour unions, strikes for pay hikes and misery. It portrays the fun one has while working in a factory, the gossips workers share in the canteen and more.
Hemachandran plays the protagonist and Nandana, a debutant plays his lady love. The movie also marks the comeback of Rajeev Krishna who played hero in 'Aaha,' a blockbuster that released many years back.
Raghu Nandhan has tuned in the music whereas Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics.
Yet another key aspect of 'Krishnaveni Panjaalai' is that it introduces a new role behind the scenes in Tamil cinema, the role of a 'casting director,' one of the most sought after positions in Hollywood. Shanmugaraja is the casting director for this film; he needs no introduction to Tamil cinema as he has played pivotal roles in noted films like 'Virumandi.'
We'll get back to you shortly with the date of release of 'Krishnaveni Panjaalai.'
