Sivakumar, son of late veteran actor Krishnankutty Nair, is all set to play a baddie in the upcoming movie Station 5, which will star Indrans in the lead role. Station 5 is the first feature film directed by short film director Prashanth Kanathur. Like his late father Krishnankutty Nair, Sivakumar's film entry is also from the theater. Sivakumar's first film was Marattam directed by Aravindan. He had also co-starred in a number of films, including Amy, Ottal and Ozhimuri.
"I was inspired by my father. But to this day I have not approached anyone for opportunities by quoting my father's name. My father advised me not to do that and to grow by my own ability. I still follow that advice. I think every movie and its character is a lesson. Thanks to Prashant for believing in me and realizing my potential and giving me a different character in Station 5," Sivakumar said in an interview.
Krishnankutty Nair was a prominent figure in Malayalam cinema in the eighties and nineties. He made his film debut in 1979 with P. Padmarajan's movie Peruvazhiyambalam. He has played notable roles in a number of films, including Mazhavil Kaavadi, Ponmuttaidunna Thaaravu, Arapatta Kettiya Gramathil, Kuttapathram, Ulladakam, Kizhakkan Pathrose, among many others.
