'Krishnam' is based on the true story of a young boy's fight with the rare disease Chronic Constrictive Pericarditis and how his father's faith in the Lord Guruvayurappan cured him even after the doctors gave him less than one percent chance of survival post operation. Akshay Krishnan the boy who emerged victorious from the disease plays himself in the film while Ashwaria Ullas is his pair supported by Sai Kumar and Shanthi Krishna as his parents and Renji Panicker as the atheist doctor.
