Director Krishna Vamsi has announced a new film titled Annam on Maha Shivaratri. The film deals with food adulteration and the mafia associated with it. While Krishna Vamsi revealed that the lead actor is not yet finalised for Annam, the grapevine suggests that the creative director has been toying with the idea of casting Megastar Chiranjeevi as the protagonist. It's no secret that Chiru and Krishna Vamsi share a cordial relation and the duo were supposed to work in the past but things never worked out.
Now that Annam conveys a strong message, Krishna Vamsi feels that the film will reach people only if he ropes in an actor who commands incredible star power and box-office potential. Perhaps, that could be the reason he is trying hard to get Chiranjeevi on board. The ball is now in Chiranjeevi's court and it remains to be seen if the Megastar obliges to Krishna Vamsi's offer or not!
Meanwhile, Krishna Vamsi is currently directing Rangamarthanda, a remake of acclaimed Marathi drama, Natsamrat, featuring Nana Patekar in the lead role. The film's shooting has come to a grinding halt after Covid-19 induced lockdown and owing to this, the director seems to have made up his mind to move on to his next film.
