In 2016, there was this buzz that Krishna Vamsi would make a drama, which was to be a remake of Marathi movie 'Natasamrat'. The project couldn't take off for various reasons. He sincerely tried to do 'Rythu' with Balakrishna but with Amitabh Bachchan refusing to do so a special role in his dream project, the director abandoned it altogether.
More than two years later, Krishna Vamsi is believed to be taking up 'Natasamrat', once again. The original starred Nana Patekar as the main lead. And the remake could well feature Prakash Raj, KV's long-time friend and well-wisher.
The film will be made as a Shakespearean tragedy in which Prakash Raj will be a theatre actor. After his retirement, the lead actor relives in his mind the roles he had played as an actor. Amidst all this, "he fails to recognize his life deteriorating into a King Lear tragedy right before his eyes."
