Krishna Thulasi Sanchari Vijay blind

The national award winning actor Sanchari Vijay for ‘Naanu Avanalla Avalu’ was in fact looking for a blind role after series of films he got did not give him satisfaction. The challenge he had in mind came as a surprise from director Sukesh Nayak. That is ‘Krishna Thulasi’ – a blind role throughout the film with heroine Meghasri making debut.

For Sanchari Vijay the difficulty was 15 director assistants keeping a close watch and making corrections. He had it enough and finally told the director to give him freedom to perform. As a result it was easy for him to give the good performance.

Before taking the blind role Sanchari Vijay in fact went to a blind hostel in Kengeri and noticed a blind cook Appaji Gowda and other inmates who are blind. He was there for more than fifteen days and studied the movements for his role.

For movement of eye ball there was no exercise. He was asked to wear cooling glass for certain shots. Otherwise with the same eye ball movement he acted as blind.

In the recent past Chiranjeevi Sarja was blind for one portion of ‘Samhara’ film, the notable among last decade was challenging star Darshan blind role in ‘Namma Pritiya Ramu’ a remake of Tamil film.

Challenging star Darshan had it very difficult as the movement of eye ball was tough for the shooting. Tabala Nani as blind in ‘Eddelu Manjunatha’ was a laugh riot from director Guruprasad that starred Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh.

In the 84 years history of Kannada cinema many super stars played the blind role. The one coming up is ‘Kavacha’ of Dr Shivarajakumar a remake of Malayalam super star Mohan Lal ‘Oppam’.
