Director Krish is set to go places. After the critically-acclaimed 'Kanche' and 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' (which is also Balakrishna's biggest hit ever), he is in Bollywood, making the Hindi-Telugu-Tamil historical 'Manikarnika'.
In an interview, the director has said that 'Kanche' and 'GPSK' was a kind of preparatory work for this film. The biopic of Rani Laxmibai has got both sword battles (a la 'GPSK') and modern warfare techniques (a la 'Kanche'), thanks to the Queen of Jhansi's clash with both Indian and British armies/soldiers.
Since Krish has listened to many folkish accounts of Laxmibai, expect the film to tell interesting, unheard of sub-plots about the warrior queen.
Written by the very sensational script-writer Vijayendra Prasad, whose daughter's name is also Manikarnika, the film is expected to be a huge magnum opus.
Should it become a blockbuster, Krish will have been a permanent pan-Indian filmmaker. He is surely on the cusp of becoming an all-India, mini-Rajamouli.
'Manikarnika' is slated for a release on April 27, 2018.
