Krish's name is buzzing in Tollywood with everyone wondering if he is the next big thing to happen to the Telugu film industry. Ever since his last film Gamyam romped home with 4 Nandis, curiosity around his next Vedam has only intensified. Here is a tribute to Krish on his birthday, which falls on the 10th of November.
Today, Krish finds himself in the company of top-flight directors of Tollywood. All thanks to his sensible entertainer Gamyam, for which he has won the Best Director Nandi recently, he is now touted to be the next avant-garde product of the Telugu filmdom.
Now, making a rare multi-starrer titled Vedam, it may be said this chap is intellectually-inclined. From curling up with the literature of greats to byhearting the aphorisms of giants, he is a book-worm. A stern believer in humanism, he is deeply philosophical too.
Actor Venkatesh, to whom he is learnt to have narrated a terrific subject, said in an interview that Krish is well-versed with the sayings of great masters.
His last offering Gamyam, which has won the State's Best Film (Nandi) Award, corroborates the above claims. In the journey of self-discovery of a rich brat, in the orphan character of Gali Seenu, in Kamalini's idealism, we find the echoes of his universal vision. In the heart-touching culmination, in the impressions of masterpieces like Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behthi Hain, we find the arrival of a "flmmaker-with-a-soul."
The truth is that Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi, whom we know today as Krish, wanted to evolve by delineating his vision through moving images. The plenty of research he does for a subject (writing a script, he met Gopal Godse, brother of Gandhi's killer Nathuram), the kind of literature he immerses himself in, everything makes the unconventional writer he is.
In the past, we have heard of so many sham multi-starrers, but his next Vedam is one bona fide multi-starrer. Allu Arjun, Anushka, Manchu Manoj, Manoj Bajapi and MM Keeravani (who is said to be playing an old woman), will be seen together in this most-awaited multi-starrer in the history of Telugu cinema. The film will have many narratives which will see an intriguing denouement. Watch for this one in January 2010 that has unique screenplay and subject.
