The police have solved the mysterious death of a 12-year-old boy named Ahmed Hassan Rifayi, who died after consuming ice cream gifted by a relative. After days of investigation, the police found out that the boy was poisoned and his aunt was responsible for the gruesome murder.
Ahmed felt uncomfortable and began vomiting continuously after consuming the ice cream last Sunday. He was rushed to the hospital but died the next day. The police immediately launched an investigation, suspecting the possibility of murder. Officials from various departments conducted detailed examinations and collected samples for testing. The autopsy report showed the presence of ammonium phosphorous in Ahmed's body, which led to a detailed probe by the Koyilandy police. They collected statements from many people, including Ahmed's paternal aunt. It was then that the shocking crime came to light.
The Incident
The accused, Thahira, allegedly planned to kill Ahamed's mother and so she mixed poison in an ice cream family pack and handed it over to Ahmed's house. As his mom was not at home, Ahmed consumed the ice cream and soon began to vomit. He was rushed and admitted to the Koilandi Taluk Hospital on Monday morning. After his condition worsened, he was referred to the Kozhikode Medical College. Despite being transferred to a private hospital, Ahmed could not be saved and passed away.
After his death, various departments, including the Health Department, Food Safety Department, Police, and Forensic Department, collected samples from the ice cream shop in Arikkulam and temporarily closed it for testing. Upon finding ammonium phosphorus in the post-mortem report, the police collected statements from multiple people and confirmed that Ahmed's death was indeed a murder. During the investigation, Thahira confessed to have done the crime and revealed that she planned to kill Ahmed's mother over a family dispute.
