Veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao a legendary comedian in Telugu cinema is also well known to Tamil audiences after his stunning portrayal of the villain Perumal Pichai in Chiayaan Vikram's blockbuster hit movie 'Saamy' directed by Hari. News is doing the rounds since this morning that the senior Tollywood star passed away at his residence in Hyderabad. Fans were shocked and took to social media to condole.

Police beleiving the news rushed his residence in Hyderabad to provide security. However celebrities who called the residence were in for a pleasant shock as Kota Srinivasa Rao himself answered the call and he was shocked by the whole commotion.

The 75 year old who has retired from acting has released a video clarifying about the news. He spoke in Telugu assuring his fans that he is very much alive and they need not worry. He appealed to the media to check before publishing such news. Kota urged his fans in Telugu states not to believe the rumors about his death. He added that he is hale and healthy and is busy with the arrangements to celebrate Ugadi festival with his family members. Relieved fans are congratulating him on social media.
