Koratala Siva Reveals Five Unknown Facts About 'BAN'

In his latest interview, Koratala Siva has revealed some interesting details about 'Bharat Ane Nenu'.  Here we bring you the major highlights.

1.  The Assembly scenes were shot as a master shot.  Mahesh Babu garu dared to do it.  We had everyone concerned rehearse for the scenes.  (Note:  It was one of the first schedules to be shot.  Everybody had to be there on the sets, whether or not they had a shot for that day.  For example, even if Posani Krishna Murali had no shot, he had to be there for all the days of the shoot).

2.  Initially, we thought of shooting the Assembly scenes in a real Assembly set.  There are a couple of unused Assembly buildings in the country, one each in Bhopal and Kerala.  However, upon seeing them, we felt that they lack nativity.  The authorities wouldn't permit us to make any changes to them.  So, in the end, we decided to erect a set.  The Art Director had to research thoroughly for it.

3.  The idea behind using titles like 'Oath of Bharat', 'Vision of Bharat', and 'Journey of Bharat' is that I didn't want the pre-release videos to sound commercial.  From the beginning, 'BAN' has been described as a political film.

4.  'I Don't Know' is not just another song in the movie.  It's a theme that runs throughout the film!  The whole genesis of fights/duels in the world is that everyone claims he knows.  I thought, what if someone who occupies the highest office (Chief Minister) says he doesn't know?  That's how it came to be there.  There is a whole story behind 'I Don't Know'.

5.  Luckily, I could rely on Google for my research (in writing the script).  I also met IAS officers, both serving and retired ones, to learn from them.  I went all the way to Delhi.  Some of them were wary until I told them there is nothing controversial about the film.  I also met JP garu twice.  He told me certain wonderful things.  I met several politicians.  'BAN' is not an ordinary script, in which case one doesn't have to bother about logic.  I did a lot of homework on the fights, too.
