Koratala Shiva: Devara's vision takes views to another world
- IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,September 26 2024]
Director Koratala Siva dives into the details of his upcoming film, 'Devara,' starring Jr. NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan. The film, releasing on September 27th, explores the complex theme of fear and is now confirmed as a two-part saga. Siva also addresses the Acharya debacle and the rumors surrounding his relationship with Chiranjeevi.
Theme of 'Devara':
In 'Devara,' we explore fear as a central emotion. It's not just about being afraid, but the responsibility that fear brings. It's the kind of fear that makes you stop at a red light.
Devara Core:
At the heart of 'Devara' is the emotion of fear. Fear, in the right sense, is essential. Itâs what stops us from doing things like running a red light. Itâs the responsibility we carry, and that sense of fear drives the narrative of this film.
Two-Part Story:
The story of 'Devara' was originally six hours long. Initially, we planned to release it as a single film. But, as we progressed with the shoot, both Tarak and I realized that the story was too big to fit into one part. The decision to make it a two-part film was made after carefully analyzing the output.
Originally conceived as a single movie, 'Devara' evolved into two parts due to the sheer scale of the story. The initial story spanned about six hours. As we progressed, we realized it wasnât feasible to tell it in just one film. NTR and I decided that splitting it into two parts was the best approach,
What Devara Part 2 offers?
Fans eagerly awaiting Part 2 will need patience. NTR has other commitments after 'Devara: Part 1,' so weâll start on Part 2 once he completes those. Thereâs no plan for a third part â weâll wrap up the story in two.
Relationship with NTR
NTR is honest. If a scene is good, heâll praise it; if not, heâs straightforward about it. Thereâs no compromise on the quality of the product with him,
Was Devara planned with Allu Arjun?
Though we announced a film with Allu Arjun, due to various reasons it didnât materialize. 'Devara' is entirely different and has no relation to that earlier project.
'Acharya' Debacle:
While I was disappointed by the result of 'Acharya,' it didn't affect my work on 'Devara.' We started working on 'Devara's' motion poster just 20 days after 'Acharya' released. The focus was on moving forward and delivering a strong product.
Though the film's result was disappointing, it didnât affect my work on 'Devara.' In fact, 20 days after 'Acharya,' we had already started work on 'Devara.' And the first person to reach out to me after 'Acharya' was Chiranjeevi garu, who told me, 'You will bounce back stronger, Shiva.'
Relationship with Chiranjeevi:
There's been a lot of speculation about a misunderstanding between me and Chiranjeevi. However, we have a great relationship. He was the first person to reach out to me after 'Acharya' and gave me words of encouragement. I don't pay attention to rumors.
Social Media Negativity:
I joined Twitter to share updates with fans, but the negativity on the platform drove me away. Memes and jokes are fine, but spreading hatred isn't.
I stepped back from Twitter due to the excessive negativity. While I joined to share some fun updates about my films, it became overwhelming. Memes and jokes are okay, but hatred is never acceptable.
'Devara' Cliffhanger:
There will be a massive cliffhanger at the end of 'Devara: Part 1'. setting the stage for Part 2.The story demands it, and it will leave the audience wanting more.
How did he received feedback on Devara's promotional content
We are continually refining the graphics. The shark sequence and other CG elements have been worked on to ensure top-notch quality.
Cancellation of Devara Pre Release
Itâs sad because the pre-release event is the only time we get to connect directly with the audience. We prepare speeches, and itâs a significant moment for everyone involved.
On teaming with Devi Sri Prasad
I felt I was in my comfort zone with Devi, so I decided to work with Mani Sharma and Anirudh for a fresh experience. But I will definitely collaborate with Devi Sri Prasad again in the future.
