Award-winning Bollywood actress Konkona Sen Sharma, who tied the knot with actor Ranvir Shorey in 2010, has officially filed for a divorce from him with mutual consent, after nearly 5 years of separation. As soon as the legal formalities are completed, the couple will be granted divorce in six months.
"Ranvir and I have mutually decided to separate, but continue to be friends and co-parent our son. Will appreciate your support. Thank you," Konkona had announced her split with Ranvir in 2015. They have been given joint custody of their six-year-old son Haroon. The couple began dating in 2007 and have featured together in the films, Traffic Signal, Mixed Doubles, and Aaja Nachle.
Konkona is a recipent of two National Awards and four Filmfare Awards. She won two consecutive Filmfare Best Supporting Actress awards for Omkara and Life in a Metro, in 2006 and 2007, respectively. She won her first National Award for the English-language film, Mr and Mrs Iyer (2002), directed by her mother Aparna Sen.
She also received a second National Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her performance in Omkara. Her directional debut, A Death in the Gunj, earned her the Filmfare Best Debut Director award and she won several International awards for her performance in the critically acclaimed 2017 film, Lipstick Under My Burkha.
