After Konkona's split from hubby Ranvir, she wants to now play characters that will bring out her inner self. Konkona was highly praised for her role in 'Talvar', where she played the mother of the murdered character. She would be soon seen as a police officer in 'Akira' that will be directed by A.R.Murugadoss. The movie also stars leading actors like Sonakshi Sinha, Anurag Kashyap, Shatrughan Sinha, and Amit Sadh.

In a recent interview Konkona say, "She was lucky that she didn't have to perform much stunts because she plays a pregnant cop in the film. It is a role of a powerful and strong woman and she loves lit." The movie 'Akira' is an action thriller remake of Tamil movie "Mouna Guru", where it revolves around safety for women. Sources say that the ace director A.R.Murugadoss has also made some changes in the script.
