Karthi has regained his momentum with ‘Madras’ and picked a script to his strength to stabilize his place at the box office. Muthaiah of ‘Kutti Puli’ fame is directing this flick and Lakshmi Menon is paired opposite to Karthi for the first time. G.V. Prakash, who is busy facing cameras in the recent past has scored the music and here’s our take on what he did for the Karthi starrer.

Kambikkara Vetti – VM Mahalingam, Ananthu

The album opens up to a functional rural number. We have heard this kind of tracks multiple times in the past, and G.V has tried his best to sway from the similarities of Ilayaraja and Yuvan. The song does evoke the festive mood to some extent, but the composer could have definitely done better.

Appappa – G.V. Prakash, Shreya Goshal

After delivering a hit number with ‘Reiki Mulaithe’, the pair has come back to croon a soft track. There is absolutely nothing new in the overall track, but the soul stirring rendering of G.V and Shreya works big time. The interludes are intelligently woven with delightful chorus, and this track could well be the next big thing on your playlist.

Karuppu Nerathazhagi – Velmurugan, Malavika Sundar

After a sweeping melody, the album turns to a foot tapping genre powered by the atomic vocals of Velmurugan. The lyrics will bring a smile or two (Un Udhattukku Sondhakkarandi.. Naan Insurance Pannirukken Di) and like this the track offers some lighter moments. If the visuals add little splendor, then this track will become a viral hit.

 Mella Valanjadhu – Madhu Balakrishnan

A track to boast the protagonist's family in the movie with simple sound arrangements. Madhu Balakrishnan takes the tune like fish to water and gives a fine performance. This track does not make much impact through the audio, and expected to gel well with the storyline.

A celebration Komban Theme – Instrumental

G.V ends the album on a disappointing note as the theme is not so catchy. One could sense that this track had been added to round off the album with 5 tracks and apart from that there’s no reason why it should find a place.
