Kollywood unites for the release of seven murder convicts

All the prominent unions of Kollywood have joined hands for a cause that has been a concern of Tamils for many years. The South Indian Artists Association. Tamil Films Producers Council. Directors Union and the FEFSI have formed the All Cine Tamil Nadu Association to work towards the release of the seven convicts who are facing life sentence in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's murder.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, Nadigar Sangam President Nasser in a Press interaction on Monday said " We have decided to place our request urging the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha to use the State Government's powers under the Article 161 and release the seven convicts Shanthan, Murugan, Perarivalan. Robert Payas, Jeyakumar, Ravichandran and Nalini We are not going to give this request as a mere letter. In stead we will seek prior appointment from the CM and the entire Kollywood industry will go to meet her as a rally which create awareness among the public, about the need to release the convicts "
