Kohli would break every batting record, Waqar Younis asserts

Former Pakistan cricket captain and speedster Waqar Younis has tipped Indian captain Virat Kohli to break 'every possible' batting record by the time he hangs up his boots more than a decade later from today.
Along with Wasim Akram and Aquib Javed and later with Shoaib Akhtar, Waqar was part of a very formidable Pakistani pace attack throughout the nineties. Known for his 'toe-crushing yorkers' bowled at terrific pace which invariably resulted in the batsmen getting clean bowled or getting out LBW, Waqar was speaking to newsmen in Karachi yesterday when he spoke about Kohli's batting prowess.
"Kohli's fitness levels are excellent and without an iota of doubt, he is the best batsmen in contemporary cricket. Keeping in view the intense concentratin he displays in all the innings, the effort he puts in to improve his batting sills and his 100 percent commitment and dedication, it appears to me that by the time he quits playing after many years from now, he would have broken all batting records," he said.
Joining the controversy as to who among India's 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar and West Indies' record-breaking Brian Lara was the best batsman, Waqar said that both were real greats. "I would, however, rate Sachin a cut above the rest; I always felt amazed at how Sachin gradually improved his skills to become an all-time great. Easily, Sachin is the best batsman I have ever bowled to in my career.
"When I was the captain and later the coach of Pakistan team, 'I have always attached huge significance to players' disciplined behavior. There can be no compromise when it comes to maintaining discipline. An indiscipline player, however talented he might be, can't progress in his career," Waqar concluded.
