It now turns out that it was Bollywood film-maker Aditya Chopra who gave the idea of an ‘Italian wedding’ to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress and longtime girlfriend Anushka Sharma.
Kohli and Anushka, one of the most matched, lovable and eye-catching pairs in the country, got married early this week at Milan in Italy, far-away from home. Even as Kohli’s fans and Anushka’s fans wondered how the couple got the idea of a wedding off India, the cat is now out of the bag as it has been revealed now that the idea was the ‘brainchild’ of film-maker Aditya Chopra, a close friend of Anushka.
Adi, as he is referred to often in Bollywood, is said to have told the couple that their marriage would become a ‘bundle of comedies’ if it was held in India. Anushka, who has been following Adi’s advice in her profession as well, agreed to this suggestion and convinced beau Kohli to fall in line.
It may be recalled that it was in Italy where Aditya Chopra tied the nuptial knot with Rani Mukherjee a few years back away from the limelight in India. Kohli and Anushka agreed to Adi’s idea as they were confident that over-crowding could surely be averted only the marriage was held outside India.
