After an impressive hiatus of 16 years, Bollywood icons Kajol and Rani Mukerji, both feted for their contribution to the Indian film industry, are all set to make a comeback on the small screen on Karan Johar's popular talk show "Koffee with Karan". While he did not divulge more on other details of the hot list, according to inside sources, Kajol and Rani Mukerji have agreed to film an episode together for the upcoming eighth season of "Koffee with Karan."
The supremely talented actresses, who are distant cousins, last graced the show in 2007 along with Shah Rukh Khan. It's also going to be the first time on the show for both actors since its second season. This season of the show is expected to have a new look at family ties.
And it's not just Kajol and Rani who will grace the show; Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly all set to come with his daughter, Suhana Khan. Moreover, the presence of other leading Bollywood celebrities, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt, Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn, Sunny Deol, and his brother Bobby Deol, will be a treat for the viewers no less.
The new season started on a grand note when it was declared that the opening episode would have Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. A teaser of their episode was released recently, and that has gotten an optimistic response as well. The teaser has Karan Johar asking Deepika, Will she ever date Rocky Randhawa, which is Ranveer Singh's character in the film "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani," in a playful moment. To this, I wittily replied to him, "I am married to Rocky Randhawa."
Bollywood buffs can catch the premiere of episode one from season eight at 12 a.m. on October 26th, only on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. The show promises a fun-filled amalgamation of entertainment and free-wheeling conversations with some of the biggest Bollywood superstars.
