These are dynastic times. We have a slew of star sons in politics now.

But lineage has never been guarantee for success.

And when you see Kodukku, you will get a better insight into that.

The film is a fathers labor of love for his son ---- Director M S Narayanas son is the hero of the film Vikram.

The father has painstakingly worked out the scenes to highlight his sons dance and fighting skills. But Narayana would have done well to work more on his sons gawky acting style and a story line that is so old and dead that they would not accept it even in a mortuary.

The story interestingly is about a son avenging his fathers humiliation. But alas, Vikram has not managed to do it in real life what he manages on screen.

The film is all about how Vikram (Vikram) gets back on the villains (Rajan P Dev and Ponnambalam) who finished off his father (Suman), a wrestler. Yes, the films plot is so simple.

Of course, there is also a love angle (Aditi Agrawal) and some tear-jerking sentiments.

The entire cast comes out as if they are auditioning for a stage drama in the 60s and 70s --- loud, predictable and overplaying. The comedy (of Sunil and Brahmanandam) grates. The fights are zippy. But that is the only redeeming feature of this mindless hotchpotch of some ones nightmare.

Eminently avoidable.
