G.Marimuthu the director of Prasanna starrers 'Kannum Kannum' and 'Pulival' is more popular among Tamil movie buffs as an actor.

After working as Assistant Director of Rajkiran, Mani Ratnam, Vasanth, Seeman and S.J.Suryah. Marimuthu donned the greasepaint for the first time in director Mysskin's 'Yuddham Sei'.

Since then Marimuthu has carved a niche for himself as a supporting actor. He has portrayed both positive and negative roles in many prominent Tamil films. The long list of films in which has given notworthy performances includes 'Jeeva', 'Komban', 'Kirumi', 'Kutramey Thandanai' and the latest addition is 'Kodi'. He is one of the busiest actors of Kollywood and his upcoming projects include 'Kaththi Sandai' with Vishal, 'Veera Sivaji' with Vikram Prabhu and 'Yeman' with Vijay Antony.

In a recent interview Marimuthu recounted his days as an assistant director in the unit of 'Aasai' directed by Vasanth, through which he got the friendship of Thala Ajith.

It was Marimuthu who used to write and give the dialogues to Ajith's character a day in advance so that the star who was then a 'few films old' actor would practice the lines at his home before coming to the spot.

One day Marimuthu forgot to bring the dialogues in written format. Ajith immediately took Marimuthu to the latter's home in his bike and got the dialogues.

Marimuthu also said it was Ajith who sponsored his daughter's entire school education. From her Kinder Garten to 12th grade, the fees will reach the school directly from Ajith without anyone from the girl's family having to ask for the same.

Though everyone knows Ajith's tendency to help his friends and keep the people around him in a happy state, of late haters have started trolling him for using them for publicity.

Those critics would do well by understanding that Marimuthu is not in the close circle of Ajith now and he has voluntarily expressed his gratitude for the much loved star in his interview to a leading Tamil magazine. This proves beyond doubt that Ajith deserves all the praise and admiration for being magnanimous and helping others.
