Kochi DCP Aishwarya Dongre, who had recently hit the headlines for taking insensitive harsh measures against a women police personnel which set of a controversy, has once again caught up in a controversy. This time, Aishwarya has allegedly suspended a civil police officer for not inviting her to the inauguration of a coffee vending machine in the police station.
Aishwarya suspended CP Raghu who took the initiative to install a coffee vending machine, thus making arrangements for refreshments for the public visiting the Kalamassery police station. Raghu installed the machine by investing his own money and also by collecting money from his colleagues. He was also said to have received prior permission from higher police officials.
The suspended CPO had also given his interview to media outlets during the inauguration of the coffee vending machine in the police station. After the DCP got to know it, Raghu was suspended citing that he had given the interview without getting the nod from higher officials. However, local reports state that she was irked over the fact on not being invited.
Earlier, during the lockdown too, Kalamassery police station made headlines for being the most public friendly station. The officials had carried out the free distribution of food kits among the homeless and also the street animals. Also, it may be noted that in March 2020, Raghu had won applauds from the Police Department and beyond after he helped a group of French tourists who were left hungry after they lost their wallet.
