A couple of days after Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty shared intimate pictures with boyfriend and cricketer KL Rahul on the occasion of his 30th birthday, reports have emerged that the duo will tie the knot by the end of the year.

Reports claimed that KL Rahul and Athiya will have a South Indian style wedding ceremony in the winter. However, a close friend of the couple has denied the speculations and mentioned that their schedules are way too tight to allow them time for a wedding this year.

“It’s not true! There’s no wedding happening this year. Athiya has two projects starting at different intervals in this year. One is for the web domain, the other is a theatrical movie. KL Rahul has the world cup coming up and his schedule is blocked with different tournaments before that. With their hands full, where do they have the time to have a wedding this year?” the friend was quoted as saying by a news agency.

Athiya and KL Rahul reportedly met through a common friend in 2019 and instantly hit it off. Apparently, they have been going out since February that year. Athiya Shetty is the daughter of Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who was last seen playing the antagonist in Rajinikanth’s Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The actress made her Bollywood debut in the 2015 film Hero, alongside newcomer Sooraj Pancholi.
