Sexing up the Kiss

The title KISS comes with an acronym.  The music album, on its part, lives up to the masala-type title as well as the style statement that the acronym is.

Sri Chandra and Pete Wonder dish out something fresh, for once.

Lyrics by Ravikanth Perepu, Sirasri, Chandra Adivi and Nachaki are meaningful.

Pilla Bagundi    Listen here

Artists: Poojan Kohli, Preethi Knight
Lyricist: Ravikanth Perepu

The album begins on a highly fresh note.  Ravikanth Perepu's lyrics are surely entertaining.  Poojan Kohli's off-beat vocals lend it a novel appeal.  The musician has kissed a goodbye to old-style romantic duets.

Dochavu Manase    Listen here

Artist: Nithya Bayya
Lyricist: Chandra Adivi

Pete Wonder rehashes a song of his from Adivi Sesh's first film, Karma.  Though it doesn't make any terrific musical experience, it may well be redeemed by good picturization.  Nithya Bayya's vocals are fine.  Chandra Adivi's lyrics are meaningful.

Ee Kshanam    Listen here

Artist: Ravikanth Perepu
Lyricist: Ravikanth Perepu

Ravikanth Perepu writes and renders the song with aplomb.  The influences could have been done away with by the musician.  It is a situation-based song which is high on intensity.  The length could have been pruned.

Enno Navaragale   Listen here

Artist: Ravikanth Perepu
Lyricist: Sirasri

Enno Navaragale is a romantic ditty that traverses a different path.  It fits the KISS bill completely and Sirasri conjures up a few lines with a poetic feel.  The instrumentation leaves somewhat to be desired.

Premena    Listen here

Artists: Ravikanth Perepu, Sulekha
Lyricist: Ravikanth Perepu

It has shades of Rehman and perhaps those of Harris Jayaraj too.  Ravikanth Perepu does a wonderful job, Sulekha croons impressively.  The lyrics are music to ears.  At 4.45 minutes, the song caters to music lovers of the cerebral type.

Parugule    Listen here

Artist: Kousalya
Lyricist: Nachaki

The lyrics capture the girl's aspiration for liberation.  The lyrics, written by Nachaki, come with a dose of poetic flush.  Kousalya's vocals don't quite suit the  song and seem to not convey the intended mood.

Kissy Kissy    Listen here

Artist: Kavi Real
Lyricist: Kavi Real

The makers hit a bull's eye by releasing the full-version of this song on television weeks before the audio hit the market.  Kavi Real's voice i absolutely cute.  The male's lines are a bit difficult to follow.  The instrumentation is tasteful, although inspired.
