Subhash Ghai, the showman of Indian cinema, is all set to release the eagerly awaited magnum opus "Kisna", which he calls his dearest and most challenging project till date.

"Kisna", a bilingual created for Indian and international palettes, will hit theatres worldwide Jan 21.

The film stars Vivek Oberoi, British actress Antonia Bernath and danseuse Isha Sharvani. The cast is supported by character artistes like Amrish Puri, Om Puri, Yashpal Sharma, Rajat Kapoor and Hollywood actors Polly Adams, Michael Maloney and Caroline Langrishe.

"Kisna" also reunites Ghai with his earlier find Vivek Mushran. The film also features Sushmita Sen and Hrishita Bhat in a special appearance.

An epic tale, it takes us back to the 1930s and the breathtaking landscapes of a Himalayan region in which the rulers and the ruled have become sworn enemies.

The film recreates the turmoil of the last days of the British era through the heroic story of a young man of humble origin - Kisna.

"Kisna" immortalises a divine love story that survives the turmoil and tyranny of a nation in the making.

Within the first week of its release, the music of "Kisna" has not only earned rave reviews from critics but also become a huge hit with listeners propelling the album to the best selling lists in music stores across the nation.

The music composed by National Award winning A.R. Rahman and the versatile Ismail Darbar is being admired by music enthusiasts. The album also marks the first time association with legendary lyricist Javed Akhtar.
