As Kishore Tirumala awaits the release of 'Vunnadi Okate Zindagi' on Oct 27, he talks about his film, the characters played by Ram, Anupama Parameswaran and Lavanya Tripathi, his next film, and more.
What thoughts are crossing your mind ahead of the film's release?
I am not complacent because 'Nenu Sailaja' was a hit. As far as I am concerned, every film that I do is like my first movie. Pressure is always there.
What can we expect from the movie?
The characters in 'VOZ' are positive. They resemble real-life individuals. There are no major clashes. They face only small disturbances in life. The subject is quite matured. The film doesn't give any message. I like friendships and so, you will see the element in good measure in this film. We have seen action and love being explored constantly, but friendship-oriented movies are not regular to come by.
'Nenu Sailaja' had layers like the father-daughter relationship, etc. In 'VOZ', too, there are strong characters all of which have a reason to exist.
So, who is playing Ram's best friend in the movie?
It's Sri Vishnu. I felt that the friend should be played by someone who looks soft. And Vishnu fits the bill. Since he is a close friend, he agreed to do the role. Every character behaves within his limits. Just because someone is the male lead or his friend, he doesn't behave in an unrealistic way.
What is the film's conflict point?
The film is a simple line. If I talk anything about the conflict, the thrill would be gone.
What is Ram's character like?
He is playing Abhiram, someone who runs a music band. He underwent training for 2-3 months in playing instruments. His character is very subtle. There are two looks but his attitude is the same throughout. The look undergoes a change as he moves out of college and when he is a 25-year-old man. He is positive and believes in seeing things from the other person's point of view.
I always felt that he can pull off this character with aplomb. And he has done that.
From the Trailer, one feels Anupama's character is very strong, unlike most of the female characters in today's movies.
More than Keerthy Suresh's character in 'Nenu Sailaja', people are going to remember Anupama's character in 'VOZ'. She is playing a very strong character. When we see that special girl, we know that she is our life partner. She is playing such a girl in this film. Lavanya Tripathi is playing a bubbly character who comes across as a girl-next-door.
What is the importance of Devi Sri Prasad for this film?
Since it has a music backdrop, Devi garu is indispensable. His audio and BGM are a major plus. Whatever was written, his music took it to the next level.
What about your film with Venkatesh? It's heard that you have a film lined up with Nani as well.
My focus right now is only on 'VOZ'. Once I am done with this, I will spend time on the script I have for Venkatesh garu. Yes, there is a film in the offing with Nani, too.
