On Thursday, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy visited Khairatabad, Red Hills and Somajiguda, among others, to review the flood situation in the city. On a visit to one of the localities, he was aghast that no officer was deployed by the GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar DS to accompany him.
Speaking on a phone call with the Commissioner in front of cameras, Kishan Reddy asked him about the stench in the area. "I am a Union Minister and there are no officers here. What is the point of me being here? Is my level not worthy of a Tehsildar being present here? Don't I have the status?" Kishan Reddy said. The person on the other side kept apologizing.
Telangana State BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, earlier today, tweeted that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has turned Hyderabad into a 'Vishada Nagaram' after promising to make it a 'Vishwa Nagaram'. "What are the steps that he has taken in the last six years to improve the state of affairs in the city?" he asked. He demanded compensation to those who have lost their homes due to the rains and floods.
