Just like our society, film industry is also going through lot of changes and one of them is increased representation of LGBTQ community in cinema. In her recent web show, 'Human', actress Kirti Kulhari played the role of a homosexual doctor and she recently said the this character was very liberating as it made her "think beyond genders".
Kirti recently told a news outlet, "I have never done this before. It is still strange for me to create that chemistry for a woman, to really give the expressions I would, falling for a guy. It is different." The script also demanded Kirti to share a kiss with her co-star Shefali Shah. As an actor, Kirti was prepared to do it but there was a certain fear in her mind regarding it.
She said, "I was only (thinking) ‘what if I kiss her and feel something, what if I get turned on?’ That will be something, I will then have to sit back and think if I am also looking at women. That is the only thing I had." They had to do the take from 8-10 different angles and in the end Kirit was glad that she didn't get any sort of arousal by it.
"We did it the first time, and we were like ok. I was relieved thinking ‘thank God koi feeling nahi aaya," she concluded.
