Royal expert Neal Sean has revealed that King Charles feels relieved that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won't be present in London to celebrate his 75th birthday, as reported.
According to Sean, Buckingham Palace's expert and royal commentator, the absence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seems to have little impact on the royal family's attitude towards the King's special day.
Expressing this sentiment to Fox News, Sean stated, “Most senior members of the British monarchy are relieved that Harry and Meghan, former royals, won't be joining the birthday celebrations for His Majesty, The King.”
Sean emphasized the complexity of the situation, explaining, “While the King desires reconciliation with his son, this issue goes beyond that.”
Reportedly, the Sussexes were not included in the guest list for the King's birthday gathering at Clarence House on November 14. Meanwhile, King Charles commenced his birthday festivities by participating in a tea dance organized by The Prince’s Trust at Highgrove House on Monday.
Highlighting the absence of the Sussexes from the royal celebration, Sean suggested that this absence reflects the existing dynamics between the royal factions.
Reflecting on the situation, Sean observed, “King Charles couldn't have anticipated how this milestone birthday would unfold. However, reaching this age has made him realize the challenges of being a reigning monarch.”
Another royal expert, Richard Fitzwilliams, implied that Harry's lack of interest in attending the birthday celebration signaled a deepening rift. Fitzwilliams expressed, “Harry doesn’t care about not being invited to his father’s 75th. The divide runs deep.”
Despite reports of the Sussexes wanting an apology from the royal family, their representative clarified that there had been no invitation or communication regarding the King's birthday celebration. Fitzwilliams hinted at a prolonged reconciliation process between Harry and the royals, indicating a strained relationship with the Firm.
