King Charles III whisked Queen Camilla out for the first time publicly, with Queen Camilla being diagnosed with cancer recently, and joined Queen Camilla for church for Sunday service at St Mary Magdalene’s church on the Sandringham estate in eastern England on Sunday morning. He waved at applauding well-wishers as he drove past to make his first grocery run after a camper van linked to him was spotted earlier this week parked up on the Sandringham Estate.
Buckingham Palace revealed on Monday that Charles, aged 75, received the diagnosis of an undisclosed form of cancer. Accordingly, he will scale down on his public engagements while undergoing treatment, a decision he made after recently being in a London hospital for a preparative procedure for an enlarged prostate. A source in the palace confirmed to CNN that it was not prostate cancer, but did not provide further details.
Doctors have advised Charles to limit his public appearances; however, he will continue state duties and administrative tasks from home, thereby not losing access to daily government briefings and managing daily official documents. The King continued weekly meetings with the prime minister, changing arrangements when necessary so that there would not be a clustering of too many face-to-face meetings as guided by medical norms.
Prince William, the firstborn of Charles and probably the future king of England, should continue delivering increased public duties as his father remains away. In the meantime, Prince Harry quickly flew back to the UK after his father tested positive before jetting off again to Las Vegas for the NFL Honors, where he co-hosted with Miranda Kerr.
In his first public statement since the diagnosis from Birkhall, Charles said he was overwhelmed by the support and that it would carry him through.
