When author-journalist Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi was assassinated in October last year, the death came as a shock. He was a dissident writing for a Western media outlet after settling in the US. His murder at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul supposedly by agents of the Saudi government has been a matter of much debate. Before he turned a dissident, Khashoggi was a royal insider. He later metamorphosed into a critic of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.
The news is that, months after his murder, a CCTV video footage showing some men carrying suitcases containing the mortal remains of Khashoggi has got leaked. The men are found carrying the suitcases into the residence of Saudi's consul-general in Istanbul.
A couple of media outlets have reported that there is no doubt the suitcases had the slained writer's remains. They have quoted anonymous sources as saying it.
