Khushbu Sundar, who has been a National Executive Committee member of the BJP, has now got a statutory post to handle. She has been nominated by the Modi government to the National Commission for Women. Her tenure will be three years.
The senior cine artist, who has been a politician for many years, has been nominated with Mamta Kumari and Delina Khongdup.
The BJP leadership has endorsed Khushbu's elevation. "This is a recognition of her relentless pursuit & fight for women's rights," wrote K Annamalai, the Tamil Nadu BJP chief, welcoming the nomination.
Seen in last year's 'Aadavaalu Meeku Johaarlu', she is currently doing Gopichand-Sriwass' 'Rama Banam' in Telugu. "Jagapathi Babu is playing my husband in the movie. I am playing the hero's vadina. It's a nice role. It's usual to play the mother's character. Ramya Krishna played Prabhas' mother in 'Baahubali'. If the character has weight, actresses are ready to play mother roles," the actress added in a recent interview. The film will hit the screens on May 5.
