Khushbu after ruling the roost as the most sought after heroines in South Indian cinema for two decades made a switch to politics and is currently a national spokesperson for Congress party.  An audio of Khushbu speaking disrespectfully of the press started doing the rounds on Whatsapp that shocked several media seniors.

Khushbu has clarified about the controversy on twitter writing "My voice message, an edited version, regarding the press is making rounds. It has gone from our producer's group n I am ashamed to say we have such cheap minds among us. My intentions were clear n not meant to disrespect the press. Its a tone you speak within friends.

Khushbu has added "My respect for the press is for all to see and journalists can vouch for that. Not even once in my 34yrs of cinema they would have ever seen or heard me speaking to them nor about them in disrespect. The voice message is half. But my sincere apologies if I have hurt any of you.   Very unfortunately you realize those who you work for are the ones who try and stab you behind your back. I know which producer has done this..but i shall not name them. My silence and forgiveness is their biggest punishment. There is lot more to be done and I shall continue"

Professionally after a long gap Khushbu is acting in the new movie 'Annaathe' directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by Sun Pictures in which she is reuniting with Superstar Rajinikanth after several years.  Meena, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh are the other heroines of the film.

Many ask me the reason behind my transformation.blame it on lockdown..no help for 70days..was singlehandedly dng all work at home;sweeping,dusting,mopping,dishes,laundry,gardening n cleaning the toilets too. Ofcz workout(yoga+plank)played a major role.And I am not a big eater????
