"Who gave you the money? And where is it now?" asks Arjun Sarja's character in the Telugu-Hindi release 'Khiladi', whose trailer is out. Directed by Ramesh Varma, the film is an action thriller that will hit the screens on February 11.
After introducing the villains (including Mukesh Rishi), the trailer gets to the usual commercial tropes of a rom-com track, which involves Ravi Teja, heroine Dimple Hayathi and supporting actress Anasuya Bharadwaj. Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore and Rao Ramesh are seen in lighter-veined scenes.
Ravi Teja, who "plays smart without stupid emotions", is a money detector. He is so money-minded that, when he proposes to Meenakshi Chaudhary, he says, "I want to spend my money with you" instead of "I want to spend my life with you." There is a bedroom moment between them.
'Pekatalo naluguru kings untaru. Ee aata lo okade king', says the hero at one point. He is also seen wearing the prisoner's uniform.
Producers Satyanarayana Koneru and Ramesh Varma Penmetsa (also its director) have roped in Devi Sri Prasad, whose 'Full Kick-u' and other songs have been chartbusters. The film has cinematography by Sujit Vaasudev, whose visuals look solid in the trailer.
