Next film to take the sequel trend forward is 2004 released hit multi-starrer cop drama Khakee. Buzz is that Aryeman Ramsay, the son of the films producer late Keshu Ramsay is interested to produce the new version.
It is said that he is currently in talks with director Raj Kumar Santoshi who helmed the original; besides the main cast - Amitabh Bachchan and Tusshar Kapoor.
Khakee was about the story of team of Indian Police who was on a mission to transfer a Pakistani spy from a town in Maharashtra to a Mumbai jail. It can be recalled that Big B had essayed the role of DCP Anant Kumar Shrivastav, Tusshar as Sub-Inspector Ashwin Gupte whereas Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai and Ajay Devgn had died in the climax. So obviously the trio wont be part of the sequel, according to Keshu Ramsay.
The film is expected to start shooting next year. Khakee 2 will be co-produced by Rahul Sugandh. Incidentally, Keshu Ramsay had debuted into acting with 2006s film Family - Ties of Blood which was also bannered under his home production.
